Certain Women is an Incredible Movie Title
But I only watched 2/3rds of it :) Welcome to me substack!
I’ll call this one….
10 Days in April
Spent 20 dollars to have a Sweetgreen salad delivered to me at work because I don’t remember the last time I cooked a veggie table. I had to check my bank account on my phone beforehand. Life is full of give and take!
Last night a human male asked me, “Why don’t you have a boyfriend? It can’t be that hard to find one.” He was wearing On Cloud running shoes. I was drinking a 14 dollar cocktail that came from a tap and was served in a clear, plastic cafeteria cup.
The 22-year-old graphic designers that sit across from me giggle all day about nothing and respond with “slay” to every teams message I send them. I mentioned their age to another co-worker who simply had no idea these girls were that young.
“Oh… that’s why they took off for Saint Patrick’s Day,” she realized.
I wrote a brand manifesto for a Republican real estate agent located in Milton, GA. He said he’s “not afraid to talk about God.” He cried in the meeting when I read it out loud to him. Sometimes, I’m so disturbed by how much I understand these people.
I drove to Columbia for Easter weekend to stay with my parents. My mom’s current fixation meals are the round, spongy red pepper egg bites from Starbucks. She probably saw an Instagram post titled something like “Easy/Healthy/Filling Breakfasts ThatWon’tMakeYouFeelLikeAnObeseOgre.”
We formed a bit of a routine. Every morning, I walked into her bedroom, got her credit card, went to get her egg bites, and bought myself a ridiculous coffee.
It’s such a lovely feeling to have a sometimes symbiotic relationship with your mother.
I’ll call this next little part….
Things I watched/read recently that made we want to open a Google Doc
Actual People - a “micro” indie, a low-budget indie, (I hate myself) a 2021 mumblecore film, idk but it perfectly illustrates the intense anxiety / crazy privilege that is graduating from one of those good universities and being like “Wait… I have to do something now.” And getting UTI’s.
A Spy Among Friends - sometimes (often) I have the taste of a 45 year old white human male when it comes to watching my stories, and this is one of those times! Watch if you are in the mood for a slow James Bond / miss The Americans / loved Little Drummer Girl?
